I'm not an expert! I'm just a girl who knows a few things, and would like to share it with you. :) I also want to add that I do not get paid for advertising stores and products, these are just things I use and places I go. (A LOT)

Acne prone skin?

So now that we've covered the cleansers, you should have fresh clean faces right? Well if you have acne prone skin, and cleansers aren't enough, I've got some tricks for you.
I know that lots of people have used proactiv, skin I.D., murad and many more products that claim to work, but fail to do so. They have the right idea, but sometimes the products just don't work on some skin. The reason could be the medication isn't strong enough therefor you still end up with acne or they're too strong and you end up with a burning dry face. If that has happened to you then this might help... Please remember that if you sensitive skin, this may be too harsh for it and could end up burning your face badly.
There are two things that will get rid of most acne, salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide. Salicylic acid is for the surface acne and benzoyl peroxide brings them out.
All you have to do is go to your local department store (Wal-mart, Target, Fred Myers, etc.) And look for these three items, one is astringent with 2% salicylic acid , and what this does is cleans your pores even AFTER you've washed your face (it's gross sometimes) you may want to use toilet paper or disposable baby wipes (not just for babies!), then I combine the other two items on my fingertips and then rub then on my face like lotion (avoiding the eyes and mouth region.) One is a dual action moisturizer with 0.5% salicylic acid and the other one is called persa-gel 10 with 10% benzoyl peroxide. You can rather buy them separate or you can buy them in a kit and you don't need use these morning and night, and I don't recommend you to do so. It's best if you try these out at night, but if you do decide to use it in the morning don't forget sunscreen!

Summer Skincare (cleanser)

Okay, so last time I mentioned that I would share some 'secrets' about summer skin care, so here we go...

Some of us clean our faces twice a day, and some of us just clean our faces when we remember to. In the summer some of us just forget altogether, but that's a bad idea. So as you all should know by now that when your face is warm your pores open up and allow whatever it is on your face to get in, and when your face is cold it does the exact opposite. So the best thing to do at the end of the day is to wash your face really well. Now if you haven't figured out what type of cleanser to use on your skin in the summer then stay tuned. :)

They make ALL kinds of products for all different face types, and if you've seen skincare isles in the stores then you know all about that already. But the hardest part is deciding what kind is best for your face. Now this isn't acne products, which is way more confusing to some, this is just cleansers.

For me, my face is really dry in the winter and radiant in the summer. Part of why this happens has to do with the weather, and the other part is that I change what products I use on my skin. I typically have an oily T zone, for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, it means that my face gets oily on my chin, nose and forehead.

Now there are four (or more) different types of skin.. oily, dry, normal, and combination. (oily in some spots and dry in others.) So there is foam cleansers, which are supposed to clean deep down in your pores, and I'd say this type of cleaner is for oily skin. Then they have gel cleansers, which do basically the same thing, for combination skin. Also they have cream cleansers that moisturize your skin while cleaning deep down, for dry skin. And exfoliating scrub, which gets the top layer of dead skin off of your face so your makeup/lotions go on smoother. Now don't think I forgot about those of you out there who have sensitive skin, they have cleansers for you as well. :) Now I'd have to say that my favorite cleanser that I've tried has to be the L'Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Cleansers. It's about five dollars at your local Target or Wal-Mart. The bottles are different colors for the different type of cleanser and they also come with a handy little scrubby that you just pop out and stick to your bathroom wall.
So now that you know a little bit more about cleansers, don't forget to clean your face tonight (if you haven't already.) And pay attention to your face, you may be using the wrong products for your skin type, or you may be doing a better job than I am. :P

Summer's almost here!!

Time to dig out the sunscreen and the waterproof mascara ladies, summer is on it's way. :) Not sure how everyone else's skin is in the summer, but mine always seems to look better. In the winter my skin gets really dry and I have to apply more lotion than I would like, but now that the weather is getting warmer I'll only need to apply sunscreen. So if you have oily skin in the summer and dry skin in the winter, than you're more like me than you thought. So stick around and I'll share a few of my not-so-secret-secrets...
